Lion and Lamb

A Christian work inspired by the biblical image of Christ as the Lion of Judah and the Lamb of God: strength and sacrifice, authority and innocence, revealed in the story of salvation. A meaningful spiritual accent for a home, prayer space or church.

The work reflects one of the deepest paradoxes of the Gospel. Christ appears at once as the Lion of Judah, mighty, commanding, victorious, and as the Lamb of God, gentle, innocent, sacrificial.

Through His death on the cross these two realities meet in one moment of salvation. The lion symbolises God’s authority and victory over darkness, the lamb humility, purity and the highest sacrifice for humanity.

Around them are symbols of faith: butterflies, fragments of Scripture, heavenly light and a dove descending from above. The composition invites reflection on the love, power and grace of Christ.

A reminder that the same God who holds the highest authority chose humility and sacrifice to bring salvation to the world.
