Rise from the Ashes

A symbolic work inspired by Ukraine’s resilience during the Russian-Ukrainian war. A female figure among fire, a sunflower, butterflies and white doves: an image of rebirth, hope, peace and the unbreakable human spirit.

The work was created in one of the darkest moments of Ukraine’s recent history and reflects the resilience, courage and spiritual strength that appear in times of destruction and uncertainty.

At the centre is a solitary female figure lit by a glow resembling a sunflower, a symbol deeply tied to Ukraine and its vital force. Flames, butterflies, wings and white doves swirl around her. Fire is both destruction and purification, the sunflower’s glow is hope shining even in darkness. The butterflies symbolise transformation and renewal, the dove peace and healing.

This work is not only about war but about the profound human ability to endure, change and rebuild.
